Kawai’s acclaimed Millennium III Action features state-of-the-art ABS-Carbon Action Part components, a composite material created by the infusion of carbon fiber into our renowned ABS Styran, that are exceptionally sturdy, light and rigid, without sacrificing strength, to provide faster repetition and more power with less effort. Microscopic surface textures on selected action parts provide superb response and control. The result is a stronger, faster action that offers more power, better control and greater stability than conventional all-wood actions.
ABS-CARBON ACTION PARTS
Kawai scientists developed the new material called ABS-Carbon, created by the infusion of carbon fibers into ABS material. ABS-Carbon.  Carbon fiber has been called the lightest, strongest material on earth.  In Kawai pianos, it allows a lighter design that helps to make our Millennium III Action tremendously fast and effortless to play while sustaining exceptional tone. The rigid character of ABS-Carbon also offers pianists more power with less effort. Its resistance to shrinking and swelling helps to provide these benefits consistently over many years – something conventional wood components are unable to deliver.

ABS-Carbon, the new composite material in Kawai’s revolutionary Millennium III Action, combines the long-term stability of ABS Styran (a composite used in Kawai actions for over 40 years) with the extraordinary strength of carbon fiber.  ABS-Carbon produces more dynamic power, greater durability, improved control and unparalleled speed to enhance the playing experience.

The use of ABS-Carbon makes the action part tremendously strong and consistent. ABS-Carbon is many times stronger than wood and is virtually impervious to shrinking and swelling due to humidity. POWER AND REPETITION OF EACH KEYSTROKE
The jack is the pivotal link between the key and the hammer that controls the power and repetition of each keystroke. Made of carbon and polyacetal, our exclusive Carbon Jack is molded as a single piece using Kawai's "Tapered Core" design for minimum weight, maximum directional strength and optimum responsiveness. It is virtually indestructible, will not warp due to humidity, and requires no lubrication – all of which reduces the need for maintenance. A microscopic surface texture dramatically increases control during pianissimo passages. These attributes make the Carbon Jack far more advanced than the conventional glue-jointed wooden jacks found on most other pianos.
ADDED MEASURE OF STRENGTH AND UNIFORM STABILITY
Made from a custom mold, die-cast parts are formed exactly the same every time. 907 Series Upright pianos feature a minimum of three aluminum action brackets that are die-cast to provide an added measure of strength and uniform stability to the action for accurate touch over time. Both the hammer rail and wippen rails are permanently locked in place to maintain the exacting tolerances of the action design and ensure long-term stability.
ACCURATE HAMMER ALIGNMENT TO OPTIMIZE TOUCH AND TONE
The action rail is the "spine" of the piano's action. 907 Series action rails are made of durable extruded aluminum with our advanced Dual-Beam design for strength and stability. The dual-beam design makes our action rails extremely strong and stable to support the hammers. The finely serrated rail surface and the exclusive Insuliner hold hammer flanges securely in place to preserve accurate hammer alignment and optimize touch and tone.
MAXIMUM RIGIDITY TO DELIVER GREATER POWER WITH EASE
Kawai 907 Series Extended Length Keys respond with minimal flex and exceptional consistency, transmitting every subtle nuance of the pianist’s performance while remaining stable through years of heavy use. The length of each key has been extended to make playing easier and provide more even response from the front to the back of the playing surface. Keysticks are also designed with a slightly taller profile for maximum rigidity to deliver greater power.
