KAWAI The Variety of a Digital Piano: Convenience & Flexibility
Complementing the instrument’s class-leading Responsive Hammer III keyboard action and Progressive Harmonic Imaging piano sounds, the CN37 also offers a strong selection of digital piano features that further enhance one’s musical enjoyment.

Wireless Bluetooth® connectivity, USB audio record/playback, Dual, Split, and Four Hands keyboard modes, and a rich assortment of instrumental voices add greater variety to players’ performances, while the convenient metronome function and integrated lessons ensure that regular practice is both productive and engaging for aspiring pianists.

KAWAI Rich sound selection
Supplementing the beautiful acoustic piano voices, the CN37 also features an excellent selection of additional sounds, ranging from electric pianos and drawbar or church organs, to strings, human choirs, and synth pads, including a full palette of GM2 (General MIDI Level 2) compatible instrument and drum kits.

The Dual playing mode also allows two different sounds, such as grand piano and strings, to be layered together, while the Split and Four Hands modes divide the keyboard into two independent sections.

The latter feature is particularly useful in learning environments, allowing teacher and student (or student and student) to play together at the same time using a single instrument.

KAWAI SONG RECORDER
The recorder on the CN37 allows up to three songs to be stored in internal memory and played back at the touch of a button. This functionality is expanded with 2-track recording that allows left and right-hand parts (or two different voices) to be recorded separately. Players can play back the left-hand part while practicing the right-hand part live—or vice versa—to strengthen hand independence.

KAWAI Alfred Inside!
The CN37 comes with the first year’s lesson songs from Alfred Publishing’s Basic Piano Course 1, Premier Course 1 and Adult Course 1 built in. We’ve also included the printed music and recordings for time-tested finger exercises such as scales, arpeggios and Hanon songs.

Kawai digital pianos are the only instruments with Alfred lesson songs built into them*. With the built-in lesson songs, a student can listen to the instructional song being played by an Alfred staff pianist. The student can follow along with the lesson book** to learn how the piece is supposed to sound. The student can slow the song down and play along, even muting the recorded left-hand or right-hand parts to practice hands separately (a common practice technique). The student can also record his or her performance and then compare it to the built-in performance.

Since 1922, Alfred Publishing has dedicated itself to helping people learn, teach and play music. More than 6.5 million pianists around the world have learned to play the piano with the help of Alfred's Basic Piano Course, making it the most trusted piano method books in the world. Now a new generation of pianists can learn using this proven method, but with a new practice partner – the Kawai digital piano.

** Alfred books are sold separately.

KAWAI Concert Magic
This exclusive feature lets anyone enjoy the thrill of playing the piano, even if you’ve never played before.

Do you wish you could play the piano, but never learned? Playing a musical instrument, especially the piano, is a dream that most people have. Yet, very few have managed to realize that dream... until now.

To help make the dream a reality, Kawai developed Concert Magic – an exciting feature that allows everyone, even non-players, to experience the thrill of playing real music. Concert Magic is an intelligent, interactive system that makes playing songs incredibly simple and fun.
KAWAI Flexible USB Audio and Storage connectivity
The CN37 is equipped with modern USB connectors that not only allow the instrument to be connected to a computer for MIDI use, but also to load and save data to USB memory devices directly.

This latter USB to Device functionality allows favourite instrument registrations, and memorable recorder songs stored within internal memory to be safely preserved on USB flash drives, or for 16-track standard MIDI files (SMF) to be recorded, played back, and enjoyed using the instrument’s superb Progressive Harmonic Imaging sounds.

KAWAI Powerful Effects & Reverb

The CN37’s powerful digital effects engine enhances the instrument’s superior core sounds, applying additional layers of detail and realism that bring performances to life.

Studio-quality reverb allows pianists to position themselves within one of six acoustic environments, ranging from a small practise room to an inspirational grand cathedral.

KAWAI Superior 4-speaker output system
The CN37’s powerful digital effects engine enhances the instrument’s superior core sounds, applying additional layers of detail and realism that bring performances to life.

Studio-quality reverb allows pianists to position themselves within one of six acoustic environments, ranging from a small practice room to an inspirational grand cathedral.

Unrivaled in its class, the CN37 features an innovative 4-way speaker system designed to reproduce the full harmonic spectrum of an acoustic piano.

Lower-range frequencies are delivered through the underside of the instrument, while mid and high frequencies are projected outward via top-mounted speakers, closely mirroring the sound projection characteristics of an acoustic piano.

KAWAI Ivory Key Touch Surfaces
The impressive CN37 features our highly-regarded Ivory Touch key surfaces This finely-textured material gently absorbs fingertip perspiration and oils to avoid slipping and provide greater playing control.

Moisture is absorbed without dirt or grease permeating the key surfaces, allowing them to be easily wiped clean with a damp cloth.

KAWAI MP3/WAV Playback & Record
USB memory devices can also be used to play back MP3 or WAV audio files, allowing musicians to learn the chords or melody for a new piece, or to simply play along with their favorite songs. It is even possible to record entire performances (including external line-in audio) directly as MP3 or WAV audio files for emailing to family and friends, or casual listening away from the piano.

The CN37 can record and play digital audio file using a USB memory device, in either MP3 or WAV formats. Record your live playing or Internal Recorder songs, or play along with your favorite recording artist. Transfer your MP3 to a computer for emailing to family and friends.

KAWAI Integrated Bluetooth® Connectivity
In addition to standard USB and MIDI ports, the CN37  also boast integrated Bluetooth MIDI technology, allowing the digital piano to communicate with supported smart devices wirelessly.

Once paired with a phone, tablet, or laptop, CN37 owners can easily expand the instrument’s functionality with a wide range of education, performance, and scoring apps.

A dedicated Kawai Virtual Technician control app is also freely available, providing an enjoyable way to learn about and adjust various acoustic piano characteristics from an attractive touch interface, without the need for additional adapters or cables.

* Availability of Bluetooth® function may vary depending on market area.

.
KAWAI Grand Feel Pedal System
Reinforcing the CN Series’ reputation as the most realistic digital pianos in their price range is Kawai’s Grand Feel Pedal System.  This unique feature accurately replicates the position and individual weighting of the damper, soft, and sostenuto pedals of a Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano to further enhance the CN37’s acoustic piano-like authenticity.

KAWAI Adjustable Music Rack
As with a grand piano, the viewing angle of the CN37 music rest can be adjusted to suit the performer’s playing position or laid flat to provide a level surface for notating scores.

.
KAWAI Virtual Technician - Personalized piano adjustments
The knowledge and skill of an experienced piano technician is essential to bring out the best of a fine acoustic piano. In addition to tuning each note, the technician also performs numerous regulation and voicing adjustments that allow the instrument to truly sing.

A skilled piano technician can personalize an acoustic piano’s sound and touch response. Kawai’s exclusive Virtual Technician does the same for the CN37 digital piano.

The CN37’s powerful Virtual Technician function simulates these refinements digitally, allowing discerning musicians to shape aspects of the selected piano’s character to suit their personal preferences.

Perform touch weight and voicing adjustments, regulate hammer and key release noises, and fine-tune string, damper, and cabinet resonances.  It is even possible to adjust the precise tuning, volume, and character of individual notes – all in real-time.

The World's Most Advanced Digital Pianos
KAWAI CN37, CN27 Series Digital Piano Action
Kawai CN37, CN27, Use the Real Hammer III (RHIII) Responsive Hammer Action with Let-Off and Triple Sensor Detection

The Kawai CN37, CN27, Digital Upright Pianos use the Responsive Hammer Action III (RHIII) action an industry-standard design where the pivot point is placed at the back of the key, not in the middle. The CN Digital Series Action utilizes a hammer component under the keys that creates a mechanical movement and feels similar to an acoustic piano. Additionally, the hammer weights are “graded” where the left-hand, or bass, keys are heaviest. As you move up the keyboard the hammers gradually become lighter. This simulates the same characteristic found in an acoustic pianos action where the hammers are larger in the bass region and gradually get smaller as you move up the keyboard.

The Real Hammer - Responsive Hammer Action III (RHIII) actions is the latest version of Kawai’s plastic-key actions. In addition to the aforementioned features, they offer Ivory-touch key surfaces, triple sensor key detection, and Let-off.
